Scrapbooking Retreat Camp Arnes

Hello Stamping Friends:

Well if you live on the prairies in Canada I hope you are enjoying the nicer weather. I sure am hoping it will stay like this for some time. I really need to get back to walking and back on my weight watchers plan.

For those of you who also struggle with your weight you know how hard this can sometimes be. I am not a over eater but rather a under eater which causes me to gain weight for not eating. Go figure. So now that things around here are pretty much squared up, new office desk for my other home based business, new filing system etc. House pretty much back in order and stamp room almost back to normal as well.

I was at a all weekend scrapbooking retreat at a camp just north of us. It is situated in a forest like setting. You are almost camping but have the luxury of a bunk bed to sleep in. You have to bring your own bedding, bathroom towels etc. and you get 3 meals a day but you have to clean up the dining room after each meal. It sounds like a lot of work but it isn't and I had the pleasure to scrap and stamp with some wonderful ladies. We can stay up all night and wear pj's all weekend if we so desire. The part I dislike the most is the packing up and unpacking when I get back home. Always seem to take to much or not enough of something. But all in all I think this was my best one of the three I have been to.

Here are some of the items I made. I am so in love with this Vintage Vogue set can you tell. I had many compliments on these cards and the scrapbook page. I like to make 8 x 8 pages and usually just have one picture on it. Hope you like them.

First Monday of 2010

Hello Stamping Friends:

Well it is the first Monday of the year. Are you going to say 20-10 or 2010? Wonder what is in store for us this year.

With the new year comes some household chores like defrosting the freezer etc. Good thing it is just as cold outside as in the freezer so I just have to put the freezer stuff outside while I defrosted.

I am working on the next holiday which is Valentines and thought I would share a card that I made last year. I really loved this card.

Another Vintage Vogue

Hello Stamping Friends:

Today's share is a altered bank monthly planner. I thought that I would try to jazz up my little book. Just as I was inspired yesterday by Cindy Lou I cased part of a card she had shared but used the idea on my planner. Other than the planner it is all Stampin Up products.

This is the first time I have tried to cover a book. One thing to remember is that you have to cut the paper larger than what the book measures to allow for the fold. After I had covered it I had a idea that it might have been easier to first cover the front but only over lap the centre by about a inch and then add a flat piece of card stock to cover the back page then it would have not been such a struggle to get everything even.

I think it turned out very pretty and I would not be surprised if the ladies at the bank will want one too.

New Products

Hello Stamping Friends:

Happy New Year everyone. I have received some of the new products from the Occasions Mini and one of them is the stamp set Vintage Vogue. I ordered it in the new clear mount style. I think I am going to like this type as it does not take up as much space and they are super easy to use.

I got my inspiration for today's card from Cindy Lou. I used the same colors as she did but I used the Vintage Vogue wheel for my background on the first layer and added a sentiment. It is all Stampin Up products.

This is the inside of the card.

Receipe:

Stamp Sets: Vinage Vogue and Very Vintage Wheel
Ink: Dusty Durango, Taken with Teal
Paper: Dusty Durango, Taken With Teal, White

Starting the New Year with Birthdays

Hello Stamping Friends:

These are the cards that I am planning to do for my card making class at Matlock next week. If you would like to attend just give me a call and I will add you to the list.

I thought we would start the new year off with some birthday cards. One for the men and one for the ladies.

The card above uses the stamp set Autumn Splendor and the sentiment is from Kind and Caring Thoughts.

The card above uses the image from Upsy Daisy and the sentiment is also from the same set.

Thanks for looking.
