Hello:

Sorry I have been away from my blog. First I was getting prepared for my Copic Certification. We took this day long course in Winnipeg. It was so much fun just to color all day. I had my table mate Sharon take my picture.

When I got home, I caught the Flu/cold so that is the other reason I have been MIA. I was asked to make a wedding card for a friend. She needed it for Thursday this week. Not to much notice. I was hoping to have my stamp from Our Daily Bread but it has not arrived as yet. So I decided to put my design computer skills to work and typed up 1 Corinthians and prayed very hard not to make any typing mistakes. I am such a poor typist and speller. You have probably noticed that in previous posts.

Anyway, here is the card I came up with. Please share any thoughts about how I could have done it different. I know alot of people don't like things on a slant but I do. Hope she does too!

I cut the card stock to 6 1/2 x 10 and scored it at 5" to make my card base 6 1/2 x 5. My first layer was a piece of white that I embossed with the Stampin Up small dots embossing plate on my big shot. I wrapped a piece of the new Organdza Ribbon around the embossed piece and made my first pin. This pin was made from the Pretties Kit as well as the flowers that are in the corner. I used the Spellbinders Classic Frame and coloured the stencil part with Cameo Coral and Summer Sun as this is the colours the bride is using. As I previously mentioned I typed up the verse and then cut it with one of my Nestabililty dies. I have never tried to make my printer print a specific color but I wanted it as close to gold as I could make it. It came out pretty close to me. I punched out 4 Martha Stewart branches and added Dazzling Diamonds to the edges for a little bit of glitter.

Receipe:

Stamps: Computer Generated

Paper: White

Inks: Cameo Coral, Summer Sun

Accessories: Stampin Up's Pretties Kit, Martha Stewart Punch, Spellbinders Dies, Stampin Up Dazzling Diamonds Glitter.

Welcome back! What did you think of the Copic Class? There is a class being offered near me in NH and I was thinking of taking it. I figured I need to get up to speed on this new rage...

I LOVE things on a slant! Mine end up slanted whether I want them that way or not so I usually slant them anyway!

I'm so glad your back. What do you think of the copics compared to SU's marvelous markers? The card is beautiful. I for one am all for slants since most of mine end up that way on accident! :)
