Hello again, starting to feel a little better now. Have a terrible cough but I do think I am on the mend. My good Internet friend Sandi MacIvor had this spectacular card on her blog. I remember that I bought fabric in those colors to make a quilt. Still have to make it someday but I will. Just waiting for the right pattern to come along. I love what I call south western colours.

I asked my husband to drive by my daughters new property today. I wanted to see what flower bearing trees she was going to have. They have only seen the property with snow on the ground so she will be so surprised next year when spring comes. She will miss the blossoms this year as she doesn't move till July. The owners saw us go by and waved us in. She gave me a tour of the yard pointing out all the beautiful trees etc. She will be so happy there.

Sandi card was 5 x 7 I think but I kept my card to 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 only because I did read that she had used a larger size until I was back in her blog. But this is my favourite size so that is ok.

I had emailed Sandi to get her opinion on my job and told her what I did not like about it. She gave me a hint that just made this card pop. While she embosses her images I did not. So I could not emboss them, so I got out my sponge daubers and sponged the edges of the all the flowers and what a difference it made. We are so blessed to have demonstrators that share so freely like Sandi.

Well here is my finished project. What do you think?

If you are wondering how I made the brown worn look, I just crumpled up my Close to Cocoa paper then I sponged it with Close to Cocoa ink and then took Chocolate Chip to were the creased were. That technique is so cool.

I remember the first time I used it at a stamp a stack. I was showing the ladies how to make the card, after one of the ladies had done her stamping I asked if I could use her stamped piece for the demonstration. You should have seen her face when I crumpled it all up. I thought she was going to faint. Were is a camera when you need one!

Ink: Tempting Turquoise, Close to Cocoa, Chocolate Chip, Regal Rose, Black

Paper: White, Tempting Turquoise, Close to Cocoa, Black
