Farwell to Karen and Hello Family.

Hi Stampers:

Sorry I have been slow at getting some thing on my blog. I had my daughter and her family here looking to purchase a new home. Her husband is being posted back to Manitoba Yeah!!! I have missed both my kids as they both have been living in Alberta for the past 9 years. Now one is returning.

I never expected her to be able to find a home so close to ours. I was just happy to have her in the same province. Now that the grandchildren are 3 and 8 I will be able to spend some quality time with them.

I was a single parent most of my kids life and usually having 2 - 3 jobs so that I could provide for them, what I did not realize at the time was ,that I was giving up my time with them. I am very proud of both of them for turning out so well. I wanted to at least be there for my grandchildren but for the longest time I thought that was not going to happen either. But now it is becoming a reality.

They purchased a beautiful property minutes away. I know they will be very happy there.

Well on with my card. A good friend of my husband is moving to BC to be with her husband and he asked me to make her farewell card. Of all the stamps I own I did not have one that said anything about moving. I have never done a moving card to date.

A fellow demo Sandi MacIvor www.sandimaciver.com that I have gotten to know over the Internet was the inspiration for the card. As a matter of fact most of the front was a complete case of her card. The inside sentiment I got off of the Internet.

These waterflow roses are just so hard not to make. They turn out everytime and different each time. I added green rhinestones to my butterfly and used a different DSP for the layered part. I also made the card a little larger than most of my cards. This card is 6 1/2 x 5.

As I mentioned before the sentiment inside was computer generated. I stamped the corner image from the Doodle This stamp set. Colored it with the aqua painter and added the pink rhinestones to the centre of the flowers.

Recipe:

Stamps: 5th Avenue Floral, Doodle This, All Holidays, Great Friend

Ink: Versa mark, Regal Rose, Cameo Coral, Summer Sun reinkers, Kiwi Kiss

Paper: Summer Sun, Pink Pirouette, Kiwi Kiss

Accessories: Little Leaves die cut, white embossing powder

Thanks for visiting and your comments.

Your card is soooo beautiful, you did a fantastic job. I know exactly how you feel about the grandchilden. I too was a single mom for most of my daughters life. I hope to make up the time with my grandchildren when I have them. DD just got married almost a year ago, so babies yet....hopefully soon.

This is just beautiful and I am thrilled to hear that your daughter is coming home. I know my girls really miss their Granny as she is thousands of miles away back in Scotland and they only get to see her once a year.

Oh Peg, I know how addicting those floating roses can be! Yours turned out great!
You will love having your daughter nearby. My only daughter lives right around the corner from us - not only has she grown to be an amazing woman, but she is one of my best friends. Not to mention that we have a very close relationship with our two grandsons. Enjoy!

I have just recently started subscribing to your blog. I am really enjoying your creations and am finding them very inspirational. I am so happy for you that your daughter is moving close to you. My daughter moved close to us with our two grandchildren about 10 years ago and it has been such a blessing. I am looking forward to seeing more of your creations in the future.
