Look What I Found

I am still in the process of setting up my stamp room from our move. You really find out how much stuff you have when you have to move it. For anyone reading my blog in the area, I plan to have a craft sale of things I do not use, have extra, retired etc. type of garage sale before I leave the old house for good. I will post the date on here as well as email anyone who is one my list.

In the process of putting some things away yesterday, I came across a card I had made and used at a technique class and share it with you today.

I used glossy white paper and sponged on the background then stamped the images with Black Stazon. It was a 4 x 4 Card when finished.

Here's what I used:


Stamps:  Nature Silhouettes, On Your Birthday


Paper: Looks like Taken with Teal, Chocolate Chip, Retired DSP in Chocolate Chip

Ink:  Black Stazon, Taken With Teal, Pretty in Pink


Accessories: Chocolate Chip Ribbon, sveral circle punches.

Another Background

Hi friends,

I was waiting for my granddaughter to come off the bus today so while I watched out my window I played around some more with the backgrounds.

One thing I have discovered about doing these is that no two background seem to come out the same.

For the card I am sharing today I used Nature Shilouettes and the card stock was Tempting Turquoise, Black, White, Glossy Card Stock and Chocolate Chip DSP. I also made this card in a different size than most cards I make, this one is 4 1/4 x 8 1/2. It is really a nice size to work with and it still fits in a regular A2 envelope.

This is what I did on the inside of the card.

The colors I sponged on were Brilliant Blue, Regal Rose and Always Artichoke. I then sprayed with alcohol (several times) I sponged the colors more than once also in between the sprays.

Another Masculine Card

Hello again:

Well I really got my fingers inky, so inky I had to fix my card with some extra punched out branches. I was really trying to keep it all SU but I knew the Martha Stewart branch punch would work beautifully to fix my problem. You see, I put my card down on my work surface without thinking and got some black marks right beside the moon. I did not want to waste the card so I just applied the branches and carried them across the top. There is still a little black mark but I can live with that one.

This is my second masculine card, I do not have alot of stamps that work well for men but these two cards the one from yesterday and today work very well.

My card base is Night of Navy, the next layer was Kraft stamped with the Canvas background stamp in Chocolate Chip. Sponged the edges with Chocolate Chip as well.

The image is from Nature Silhouettes I stamped it three times covering up the first stamp completely with paper (called masking) only leaving a opening for the bottom portion of the stamp to stamp onto my white card stock. Then I stamped the deer making sure his feet were in the grassy area. I stamped a second deer, cut it out and added a 1 1/4 " circle to it. I find that sometimes when I am using a sponge to color the background it takes some of the black ink away with it so I thought I would try covering the deer and it did seem to help. I know that alot of the demo's would you heat embossing to avoid that but I did not want to use that.

I layered the image piece on Baja Breeze and then layered it on the Blue Bayou which I used the ticket corner punch on, it kind of gives it a three dimensional look I think. Thanks for stopping by.
