Masculine Birthday Card

Hi everyone:

I think spring has finally arrived. I have been busy getting my outdoor work done. I decided not to plant real flowers this year because the sun is so hot were I would like them so I just planted faux ones. They have fooled a few people so I guess they look ok.

I am happy to report that my daughter has finalized her house deal and they should be here in about 4 1/2 weeks. I will be counting each and everyday till they are here. Now if my son could find work here and move that would be so awesome as well.

I have not been stamping much I just kinda lost my mojo as they say. But I have some classes to get ready for so I thought I had better get my fingers inky as Sandi would say.

I have been playing around with the sponge daubers and wanted a different look for the train in the Happiness is a Journey stamp set. I think alot of folks use the spectrum pads and the brayer for this look but I don't have any so I thought I would see if I could do something similar with the daubers.

As it turns out I really like how the Almost Navy kinda looks like sky, the Really Rust looks like maybe mountains LOL and the Always Artichoke looks like grass. What do you think?

I used three circle punches, 1 1/4, 1 1/2, 1 3/4 sponged the edges and paper pierced around the last one. The paper piercing doesn't show up well in the photo but it looks great in real life.

Recipe:

Stamps: Happiness is a Journey, Sanded Background stamp, One your Birthday

Ink: Basic Brown, Almost Navy, Always Artichoke

Paper: Chocolate Chip, Really Rust, Always Artichoke, Kraft, Close to Coaco

Accessories: Punches, paper piercing

I think you did a wonderful job. Beautiful card.
Awesome that your daughter is moving close to home. We have one that lives across the country from us with two of our grandkids and it is tough.

Beautiful card! I love your "brayered" look, I'm sure your mojo is just on a siesta - wish I could do a card like that when my mojo is MIA. 8o]

Wonderful news about your daughter.

I love what you did with this stamp and will definitely have to CASE. I have only used it once and it looked nothing like this. Thanks for sharing.

I am horrible at masculine cards, but this one is gorgeous. I need to start CASEing yet again!
