Another Bloomin Beautiful

Hi Stampers:

I actually made this card some time ago but I have never shown it on my blog.

This card uses the masking technique where you stamp the focal image ( the flower in the centre in this case) cover it with the same image and stamp the next images over the masked piece. Having typed that I realize that it may not make any sense to those who are not familiar with this technique. Let me try again. You stamp the first image on you piece of white card stock, on a scrap piece of paper you would stamp the same image again, cut it out and using a repositionalble adhesive place this second image over the first image that you stamped on the white card stock and then stamp the next two flowers one on each side of the main image over top of the stamped scrap piece. This gives the center image a bit of a 3-D effect.

The other thing I did was on the vertical piece on the left hand side, I heavily sponged the edges with Chocolate Chip then I took the sanded background stamp inked it up with Whisper White Craft Ink and embossed it with clear embossing powder. It does not show up really well in the photo but looks quite neat in real life.

I also stamped the background of the card with the Pretty Petals background stamp in Versa Mark.

Thanks for looking and don't forget to check out the Late Night Stampers Blogging Stars web sites.

Peg - I love that card. And thanks for the reminder about masking - it's been a while since I've done any.
